It was during Wade's brief stay at Texas Children's Hospital that we found there was a great need for assistance to families during this terrible time in their life. Over the years since Wade passed, Wade's Funds for Little Ones has been able to furnish the cancer unit with televisions with built in VCRs, rocking chairs, Nintendo 64, with several games, long distance phone cards, toys, journals, videos, baskets, art supplies and a number of other items. We have also gave a "Coping Bag" to each patient. The Coping Bag consisted of a bag filled with various age-appropriate toys, and it is given to each patient at the Cancer Center when they are first diagnosed. The toys are chosen to help distract children who are undergoing a painful procedure, or simply to help pass the time while waiting in the clinic or hospital. We have also brought Easter baskets, toys at Christmas, Valentine gifts and Halloween treats. In addition, to helping the hospital, we provide food coupons, parking passes, rent, gas money, and many other items to assist families. Our biggest wish is a cure could be found for this dreaded disease so that our services would no longer be needed.
Wade's Funds for Little Ones is a 501c3 organization
